The Green March (Marcha verde), or the Green March for the Restoration of the Moroccan Sahara, was the name of a mass-action demonstration organized by the Moroccan government in November 1975 to bring Spain to hand over the disputed territory of the Sahara, Under Spanish occupation.

A 100-dirham Moroccan banknote dated back to 1991 commemorating the Green March.
The start of the march was given by Morocco's King Hassan II to cross the Moroccan Sahara. The demonstrators waved Moroccan flags and banners calling for "the return of the Moroccan Sahara" with pictures of the King of Morocco and the Holy Qur'an. He also took the green to describe this march as a symbol of peace.
