Starting from Feburary 2018, the law for euthanasia will be executed under the following conditions. No possibility for revitalization whatsoever, no chances of recovery, and close to death. In this case, the patient can stop the treatment with the permission of one specialist.

Question

Should mercy killing be allowed?

I agree under the condition of the patient agreeing on mercy killing. Let me explain the two reasons.

First of all, every person has human rights. One's decision on death should be respected also.

Secondly, I believe that death should be less painful for everyone. It's worse than death to prolong life in a painful state.

I agree on mercy killing. We aren't born with our own will. It will be more humane if we have our rights to decide our last part of life. If there's no other way of cure, being alive would just be painful.

It'd be a pressure if everyone around me is sad because of me. But I'm concerned that patients will choose mercy killing because they feel sorry for the people suffering around them.

I'm afraid that the people who are curable but poorwill make these decisions. Mercy killing should be permitted after making lots of secure procedures.

I haven’t experienced what the patients have gone through, so I can’t understand them exactly.
One person can have only one life.

So, it’s important to finish this precious life well. As it’s much better to pass away in silence when he or she feel it’s time to go, than pass away in frowned face of pain, this Death with Dignity is a system that actualizes individual’s veritable freedom by choicing their death.

But there is no perfect human, we should give them sufficient time to think one more time, and it’s desirable to think in as many angle as he or she can with psychiatrist.

I agree on mercy killing. There are doctor assisted suicide, passive euthanasia and active euthanasia. I agree on mercy killing for every human has their right to be happy. The question of 'how painful is it' is blurry, but uncurable diseases shouldn't be prolonged, for it's better to die gracefully than living in pain.

I think death with dignity is something we should allow. If we refer to it as being allowed to die rather than suffer (say from a terminal illness), I think we should be allowed. However, we should have to exhaust all other options of surviving first, otherwise we may have unnecessary deaths.

However, if all options have been exhausted and the victim is suffering, I think it should be their choice (or people close to them if they are unable to decide). We could relate the suffering to torture, and I don't think anyone should have to go through that.

Mercy killing has been an controversial issue for bout 10 years or so. Thinking about death is meaningful and necessary. Now is the age of the well dying, not the well being.

There are all sorts of treatments but now we have to ask ourselves 'are we ready to experience death with dignity?' We all have the right to die with dignity. Under the condition that this policy won't be abused, I am for it.

In short, I am for death with dignity. Let's say I am in pain, having to prolong life when I have no change of revitalization. Would this kind of life be life, when I don't exactly know when I'll die?

I'd rather choose mercy killing to shorten the suffer of myself and the ones around me. First of all, mercy killing decreases the economical loss of other people.

A family loses about 30000 dollars for this meaningless cure that won't save the patient. Therefore, to shorten the pain, mercy killing should be allowed.

I am for mercy killing. But there is a strong need to make the patient go through lots of procedures before it. The patient might have been blackmailed due to money problems or family pressure.

Under the right circumstances, mercy killing should definitely be allowed. One's phsyical and mental pain is not what a religion or a nation can estimate. The suffering would be unbearable for the patients and the people around them.
