Understanding The Antiquated Yoruba Oro Festival.

in #culture7 years ago (edited)

Living in Lagos, the oro festival has always been something to be scared of, whenever it's announced that it's time for oro, everyone is to stay home once it's 10pm else you want to lose your head to be buried with the late king. The oro festival as explained to never by some locals, occurs when a king is dead and needs to be buried. 12heads are required to be butried with him. These heads will guide him on his way to the afterlife. Beware of oro when it's time, do well to stay indoors.
