Some people just have a need to complain, they’d complain about culture appropriation or they’d complain that somebody is pressuring them to change theirs.

Japanese like to make a point that Russian Matryoshka’s form has Japanese roots, which is probably true. At the same time they didn’t create the drawing design on that form. In fact, they like that design so much, they get a compulsion to claim the authorship of the shape (which was also changed further in Russia).

That compulsion is just a part of human nature :) and I find it amusing.
