M&M Diversity

Diversity is sort of like M&Ms promoting every kind and if you leave out just one, then you get attacked for excluding the 'almond' ones or the 'crunchy' ones, and suddenly you're a hater. So, now every advertisement has to have every flavor, or else. But, what if you do not enjoy each flavor equally? What if you flat out do not like a particular one for whatever reason? "People are not flavors!" you indignantly reply. Yes, this is an analogy and thus not meant to be a literal comparison. I am just saying that John Carpenter's The Thing had no women in it, and the prequel did. Does anyone think the original would have been even better if it had women in it? C'mon ... Braveheart had no black people in it. If it had, then would it have won even more Academy Awards? My only point is that diversity in any and all cases should not be a must. It is fine as long as it is germane to the plot, or situation. No one complained that Boomerang had no white people in it.

Currently 'diversity' is not enough. Now we have to exclude Caucasians, and if we include them, then they are almost exclusively the villains. Well, I for one have no 'white guilt.' I also have no such thing as 'white privilege.' By the way, can I ask you who buy into this crap a couple of questions? Who else was going to invent shit? Indians? South Americans? Africans? Asians? Arabs? I'm sorry that the Renaissance happened in Europe, and not these other places. I am also sorry that, in current times, pretty much all patents come out of the USA. Sorry there was no Plato, Aristotle, Newton, Descartes, Einstein, Tesla, etc., or other great mind that came from somewhere other than the Western world. I am sorry Europeans had the initiative to venture out and develop a 'New World' that allowed for innovation, and a free market system that rewarded hard work and risk taking.

Should the Japanese people feel guilty because they invented the best food of any culture on the planet? Or that their companies make the best electronics of any nation? Should Columbians feel remorse for having the best coffee and cocaine of any nation? How about the Germans and their beer? Have I made my point because I literally cannot come up with any more examples. I suppose my point is, so what if one nation in particular is so much better at so many various things than so many other countries. It is not the DNA of the people that accounts for this, it is the culture of that country. So why not emulate this wondrous place rather than resent it? Then we all benefit!
