The Questionable Roots of the Hippie Movement and Popular Music (feat. "Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon" & "Musical Truth")

in #cultural-conspiracy6 years ago (edited)

You know that I often consider myself a hippie and that the contemporary psychedelic scene I am so fond of is somewhat of a continuation of what the hippies started in the 60's.

That said, you may also know that I always try to keep an open mind and to question everything, even the things I hold dear. And while I have yet to find the major catch in what the hippie movement has become today with the psychedelic scene, there are some worrying hints as to how the hippie movement got started, how it shaped public discourse at a time of war and how it may have been established by intelligence services in order to fulfill a certain agenda.

I wish there weren't any hints, but I am afraid there are. A word of warning, if you are fond of bands and musicians from that time and want to retain that image you may want to skip this article. What some researchers have found has the potential to not only cast monumental doubts on the integrity of the popular artists involved, but also on the broad social ramifications the hippie movement had set in motion back then.

You be the judge.

Coincidence cluster

The first thing that really stands out in this story is the sudden aggregation of artists and bands at Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles California out of nowhere. Despite the understanding for naturally growing popular movements, fads and developments the speed and efficiency with which this has happened is staggering to say the least.

Many of the most popular artists of the time (most of whom played Woodstock later) came out of this unlikely and newly-established epicenter of popculture that arose amidst a multitude of highly suspect connections to the establishment the hippies were allegedly resisting...

Unlikely connections

But that in itself is not so strange as finding out that many of the artists seem to have had strong ties to intelligence services and the government, mostly through family ties.

A prime example is the connection around Jim Morrison (The Doors) whose father wasn't "merely" a Navy admiral, but also the man who led the fleet responsible for the Gulf of Tonkin incident, somewhat of a prototype for war-initiating false flag attacks.

Then there are connections to intelligence services for the much respected Frank Zappa, odd circumstances surrounding the shift in style of the Beatles and their connection to the Tavistock institute, as well as a myriad of strange relations between some of the other most influential artists of the time and how they shaped public sentiment. Nowadays we have certain elite clubs (such as the Mickey Mouse Club) that have primed many artists to be eventually put in the spotlight and steer entire generations of people to aspire to certain artificial ideals such as the transhumanist mindset, and there are hair-raising links to the CIA and projects like MK Ultra on a large scale that would boggle most people's minds.

To name but a few of the many weird connections behind the scenes that had not been uncovered for the longest time. It really goes much deeper than most people would ever suspect, and what seemed to have started with Laurel Canyon and the hippie movement has eventually been extended to virtually any popular music scene that is enjoyed by people today... Could there be an overarching agenda in light of the many impossible coincidences we witness?

Needless to say, and as always: Use your discernment wisely. Believe nothing but understand as much as you can. An investigation requires an open mind and the truth may turn out to be different yet, so maybe this narrative is just a trap...

But the hints and parallels that a few researchers have uncovered are highly interesting to say the least, especially for people who are genuinely keen on finding out why popular music has become so hollow, and how it all ties back to a social agenda implemented in the 20th century whose effects are still plainly visible today.

There are many good interviews about the topic now, but much of the weird connections and narratives in popular music seem to go back to this odd place in Los Angeles called Laurel Canyon, a collection of highly successful artists clustered around a governmental intelligence facility.

If you want to follow up a bit deeper I can recommend the interviews with Mark Devlin, who has written the book series "Musical Truth" that uncovers many of the weird patterns behind this area of human culture that many people do not question to this day.

Your call

I am curious: What do you think? Are the coincidences merely coincidences? Or is there some control agenda underlying what would eventually become popular music and a hugely influential outgrowth of a seeded cultural development?
