So what happened was this: back in Feb 2004, Facebook came out. People flocked to this new social media site, designed for families and friends to share photos (for the most part) and comment.

Back then we had LinkedIn - launched in May 2003 - for business posts, so FB distinguished itself from that "other" platform.

Stuck-in-the-muddites, they reckon keep business and family / friends separate. Blockchainers, especially steemians, merge the two 'cos they understand that only by helping each other do we truly succeed.

I've never separated my FB into different spheres, always keeping the two linked, melded, perhaps blended.
