Present
Morning fellow Steemians and CTPtalk members,
"Present" what an interesting word. I might go deep here. How does this word relate to our online life (and offline). Like most words in the English language it can have more the one meaning.
It either has to deal with the concept of time or a gift. And the interesting thing here is I believe it applies in both ways online. Me and you being present here in Steem and CTPTalk is a present! Oh man! Wow. That is deep! lol
To quote from Wikipedia "The present (or here and now) is the time that is associated with the events perceived directly and in the first time,[1] not as a recollection (perceived more than once) or a speculation (predicted, hypothesis, uncertain). It is a period of time between the past and the future, and can vary in meaning from being an instant to a day or longer." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Present).
So what can we take away from that? How can that help us in our day to day coming to Steem and writing? I don't know! I can only speculate and type what I think. It may be different for everyone else.
When I sit at my keyboard and only have a general theme to type about and stare at my screen I believe I am in the Present, that moment, where I am either going to be successful or I am going to fail in writing a blog post. Well I have been successful 19 weeks running now in getting my post out. As some would use the word: I have been Present!
Present as a gift: Again to quote from Wikipedia "A gift or a present is an item given to someone without the expectation of payment or anything in return. An item is not a gift if that item is already owned by the one to whom it is given. Although gift-giving might involve an expectation of reciprocity, a gift is meant to be free." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gift).
So what is the present I (we) give everyday we are here writing? POB: Proof of Brain! We are giving our thoughts, we are giving part of ourselves. We are giving it all, laying it on the table, putting ourselves out there. As a gift, a present to others. Hoping in some part that in the present others will take this present and like it, upvote it, comment on it, learn from it.
I guess the difference here is that something is expected in return, or hoped for I should say, as I never expect any return on my blog posts. I always think they will tank, be no good. So I hope for some return, or a present back as an upvote or comment. But I do give freely my writing as a present to you all.
I could go on and on with this one little word but I will give you one more little Present. I will stop! lol
Now let me get back to my usual reports.
#Steem: $0.142736 USD (-2.05%) 0.00001991 BTC (-1.65%)
#Bitcoin: $7,169.50 USD (-0.41%)

If you are Christmas shopping: Be Present in your Present buying! lol

Wow Bradley this was very present and very deep, we give our posts, our upvotes and comments as a gift, and if we get engagement in return it's a bonus, stay awesome and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.
