Steemit Needs CSS

in #css8 years ago

Markdown is a wonderful tool, and has done a lot of good for the Steemit community so far.

It should still remain an option for all Steemit bloggers.

However, the universal style-management language is still CSS.

It is second only to HTML in its appeal and its user adoption. And Steemit is the lesser for not implementing it.

There are lots of reasons to include it in the site, not the least of which is that it makes it easier for users like myself, who maintain their own website in addition to their Steemit profile, and wish to share content between the two.

There are roadblocks, of course. Steemit provides no way to store files on site, so the blogger must either host their own .css files separately, or inject their CSS rules directly into the post. Each of these possibilities has their challenges, but both are better than having no access to CSS at all.

I call upon everyone in the site to...consider this idea. I can't demand that everyone agree with it. But I need to see more people talking about it.

As always, I'm open to suggestions and alternatives.

Thanks for reading.
