The top posts from r/GlobalOffensive for Sunday Jul 3 2017

in #csgo7 years ago (edited)

This post was inspired by my friend @ackza's post https://steemit.com/photography/@ackza/test-of-new-series-called-what-you-missed-on-reddit-today-redditcomrpics-edition-for-friday-june-30th-2017.

The idea is, reddit is currently the powerhouse when it comes to viewing curated content. However, noone makes a dime off of reddit. Not the content creators who spend the time uploading cool stuff and not any of the users "upvoting" the content. Someone can post something and it can get thousands of votes but at the end of the day nobody is financially better off.

If we post the best content from reddit on Steemit.com, we can convince redditors to become Steemians! People will start posting their awesome, cool, and interesting content over here and then we can all start making money off it!

That said, this is the First Edition of the Top 10 Posts on reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive.

1. Thorin's twitter recently with 2544 points (imagine all those votes!!)
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 2.12.23 AM.png
Thorin is an esports historian and self-proclaimed "most talked about analyst" who loves to make controversial statements to rile up the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and other esports communities. Apparently, it's working.

2. Twist rage with 2067 points
https://clips.twitch.tv/HedonisticLittleSalmonSSSsss
The Qualifier for the PGL Major (the biggest event in CS:GO) just finished and the clip shows one of team Godsent's players, Twist, raging after their tough loss which meant they will, unfortunately, not be attending the Major. Poor desk :(

3. Team Liquid vs FlipSid3 Tactics / PGL Major Kraków 2017 Main Qualifier - Round 5 / Post-Match Discussion 2055 points
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 1.33.28 AM.png
This post is a common format on r/GlobalOffensive. It's a post-match discussion thread where users can discuss CS:GO matches. Team Liquid is one of the most popular American teams in esports and so you'd imagine a lot of users wanted to discuss their loss and elimination from qualification for the Major.

4. DonStepan has a message for Thorin 1878 points
https://clips.twitch.tv/WildIgnorantLobsterBloodTrail
Surprise, surprise, the #4 post on reddit is also about Thorin. He'd love the attention.

5. Boltz: Admin paused the game for 5 minutes in crucial time saying we need to stop yelling, what a joke 1828 points
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 1.40.24 AM.png
Another popular format on r/GlobalOffensive is to post interesting tweets from professional players. In this case, Boltz complained because the company hosting the Qualifier stopped the game to tell his team to calm down. Can you imagine that happening in a real sport? What a joke! Good news, the interruption didn't seem to affect Immortals too much as they went on to earn a spot at the Major.

6. Cloud9 vs FlipSid3 Tactics / PGL Major Kraków 2017 Main Qualifier - Round 4 / Post-Match Discussion 1729 points
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 1.47.06 AM.png
Another post-match discussion thread, this time surrounding another popular American side, Cloud9 (who also happens to be my favorite team). They qualified! Congratulations!!!

7. Autimatic with the 1.75 rating to get himself into his first major! 1258 points
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 1.50.10 AM.png
Someone posted Cloud9 player Autimatic's tweet announcing he made his first major and it got 1258 upvotes! Imagine all that activity here on Steemit! Congratulations Autimatic!

8. CONFIRMED: The participants of the PGL Major 2017 in Kraków 1108 points

This image shows all the teams who will be participating in the Major in two weeks.

9. PGL Major 1st round matchups 1085 points
Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 1.55.45 AM.png
A little more specific than #8, this post shows the matchups for the first round of the major. My team, Cloud9, the #6 team in the world, faces North, the #5 team. It should be good matchup. If the timing of the match isn't off (due to being played in Krakow, Poland), I can't wait to watch it!

10. n0thing's sticker plan 779 points
https://clips.twitch.tv/NastyExpensiveLEDKappaClaus
In this clip, Cloud9 player n0thing jokes about his signature.

779+1085+1108+1258+1729+1828+1878+2055+2067+2485= 16272. In all, just these 10 posts on this one subreddit earned 16,272 upvotes! And nobody got paid except for the reddit owners who got to sell ads next to them. If we can convince even 10% of r/GlobalOffensive's 516,000 "subscribers" to start posting and voting on Steemit, that's 1627 monetized upvotes a day! Quite an impact!

As always, @ackza and @tylersr encourage you to carry out similar experiments such as this post to demonstrate to people how much value we can create by convincing our friends on Facebook, Twitter, reddit, etc. to start posting on Steemit!
