Have nostalgic Pokemon-like fun with Cryptokitties

Are you ready to sink hours breeding, browsing and buying digital cats?

CryptoKitties is an online game much akin to Pokemon, and the other many "Collect them all" games available now. However, unique to CryptoKitties, is a backend built on #Ethereum blockchain technology, part of a new trend called "Cryptocollectibles" (see #rarepepe for another craze like this one). If you have enjoyed "Collect them all" games, you will instantly be addicted to the CrytoKitty model of game, where you can earn actual Ethereum!

CrytoKitties uses MetaMask, an easy to setup Chrome extension, to store Ether funds for purchasing kitties. Once you install this and add funds, you are ready to buy your first kitty on the Marketplace.

I have found that the Marketplace is the best place to start off getting your first kitty. Besides these, Generation 0 kitties are offered as freshly minted kitty "blocks" by the developers until 11/2018, but cost around 0.1 Ether ($47 currently), while Marketplace kitties can be found for 0.003 Ether ($1.41, chump change).

Once you have one CryptoKitty, you can continue to browse and get another on the Marketplace or pay to "pimp" your kitty with one in the Siring section of the Marketplace. Either way, with patience your kitties start multiplying and you have earned back your initial investment in the game!

Some tips based on my first hour in Cryptokitties:

• About $20 (0.045 Ether) is enough to get started trading in CryptoKitties
• Accruing kitties with short cooldowns should be the first goal of the game, so that you can breeding rapidly
• Start looking for attractive traits, such as stripes, mustaches, and patches to pass on to the next line, as these will fetch higher prices in the marketplace
• Start selling or offering siring services to your kitties with vanilla traits so that you can maintain and earn back Ether
• Have fun!

Soon you will have a successful kitty business going - this is best part of trading Cryptocollectibles; you are making actual money! Since starting the game, I have earned back my entire $20 investment be selling unwanted cats.
