A Monster That Haunts The Roads

Around 1910 an unmistakably abnormal and horrifying adventure started on what, today, is the B3212 street, in the region of the English towns of Postbridge and Two Bridges. It was the foggy and boggy setting for Arthur Conan Doyle's exemplary Sherlock Holmes novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles. In one case, it apparently even brought about a disastrous demise for a grievous street client. It has turned out to be known as the marvel of the "Bristly gives." It's a subject that I have already expounded on here at Mysterious Universe (see this connection). There is a motivation behind why I bring this up.

According to Anthony, it was around 11.00 p.m., and he had been visiting a customer in Postbridge. The evening had gone very well, a deal had been struck, contracts had been signed and exchanged, and a pleased and satisfied Anthony was now homeward bound to the city of Bristol. It turned out to be a journey that he would never, ever likely forget.

Also, the way that there appeared to be no coherent purpose behind this lone uplifted Anthony's dread and concern.
