The Steemit Crypto Academy - Professor ApplicationsteemCreated with Sketch.

In October 2018, when I first joined steem, I had little to no idea how to go about the platform and what was I to do. A swarm of bot accounts rushed to my #introduceyourself post and that was the end of it.

You may think it would be difficult to navigate through such a robust platform, a decentralized boat where every step digs deeper. Yes, that was the case...and still is for many newcomers.

Where do you think you would stand, if you were given a rundown and walk-through guide of steem at the very first days of your journey? Knowing the little secrets of success and the being aware of the loops. Delegations, interactions, curation, community hunt and so on. Obviously, somewhere better than where you are, now.

The idea of welcoming on-boarders is stale and redundant. However, the idea to guide on-boarders has been a well received plan that has been attempted to be executed, and rightfully so.

Coming from the United Arab Emirates, I had an advantage in my early days that not many had. The ability to speak 7 different languages helped me communicate with as many people on steem as possible. The privilege of creating exceptionally good content was present. And having access to many and all resources and exchanges to gain practical knowledge about crypto.

In the last 2 years, my journey has been fruitful, and at a time I was living off of crypto only. I heard learnt the ins and outs of steem and I learned to trade crypto in a way that could become a full time job.

I recognized the potential and dedicated much of my time to help the community reach heights, just as much as I did.
What are some of the badges on my chest from my previous journey?

Some of the projects I have worked with in the past.

  • Welcomewagon - A steem project dedicated to teaching newbies about steem as a content creator and curator. I started off as a student and went on to pass the knowledge. It was a 3 weeks based program where we taught everything from keys to markdown and post designing.
  • Uptrennd University - Played the role of "Dean".
An initiative on Uptrennd to teach, guide and provide tasks for newer users. We gave them guided lessons and "homework-like" tasks to complete based on the guides. They were rewarded with badges.
  • SteemDAO - Co-hosted a meeting where proposals were discussed into details and a through explanation was provided for voters and proposers to understand each other.
  • #Blindtest - Steem Project. Where I indulged the community to learn and test dApps on the blockchain in return for rewards including SP delegations, liquid Steem, and other tokens.
  • Secret word initiative - An initiative I ran for users to engage with content they consume in an extensive manner. There were daily rewards in the for of 5 steem and 10 steem.
  • BDcommunity - A community for Bangladeshi users, where I played the role of scouting, guiding and supervising.
  • Drisers - A steem community dedicated to dtube, where we guided users, constructed feedback, curated content and hosted contests.
  • Onelovedtube - A curation role for dtubers.
  • SteemitBD - An account ran for discovering content, guiding users and rewarding them.
  • DIYhub - Curation for DIY related posts.

Eligibility

My experience speaks for itself. I have been involved with community work on the blockchain for quite some time and have a dedicated background in teaching about the chain and the innerworkings of it.
All the way from keys, markdown, engagement to reading blocks. I have a stronghold on how to approach them, use them and more.

I have spent a lot of time with newbies and still do through other projects. On a different chain I have created a new community that guides newcomers from Bangladesh and it is still going strong.

I believe having a rich experience and knowing what the newbies face is important. But knowing how to tackle those problems is even more valuable. Having a good knowledge base about the newbie guide projects, steem blockchain, projects, dapps and community leadership, gives me an edge to properly guide newbies in a structured manner.

Roadmap

There are a certain factors to keep in mind when dealing with a newbie. These include: current understanding of crypto, coins they are accustomed to, the way they perceive crypto etcetera.

The plan, as always, is to let newbies settle in instead of rushing them which may cause a fallout and inefficient reults. So for a 5 week plan, it should be executed with a "reflection period" for tasks and revisions, among the working days.

Something along the lines of -

  • 1st week: 3 working days, 4 reflecting days.
  • 2nd week: 4 working days, 3 reflecting days.
  • 3rd week: 5 working days, 2 reflecting days.
  • 4th week: 6 working days, 1 reflecting day.
  • 5th weeks: 7 working days, no reflecting day.

This will help newbies ease into the program while keeping them engaged and committed. An increasing workload means incentivizing them to complete weekly courses on time and developing a work discipline.

The rising pressure encourages newbies to work seriously and adapting themselves to perform better than the last week.

As for the topics:

Prior to the inception of the program, a short questionnaire will be provided to the newbies which help the professors understand what level are they dealing with and the program can be rearranged for better yield.

  • 1st week will include:
Introduction to cryptology, crypto technology, types of cryptocurrencies.

  • 2nd week will include:
Introduction to blockchain, innerworkings, real-life applications, growing blockchain trends.

  • 3rd week will include:
Introduction to steem, steem blockchain technology, introduction to tron, tron technology and their applications.

  • 4th week will include:
Steem warm-up, Sp Steem Sbd and tron, keys and wallet, decentralization and witness, resource management, upvotes and downvotes.

  • 5th week will include:
Deep-dive into steem, markdown, plagiarism and copywrite, engagement, , investment and returns through beneficiaries, delegation and curation.

As you can see, the roadmap is designed to keep newbies engaged to reach the desired goal - steem and posting. This goal is the common one I found in almost all cases. But before they can get to learning how to blog properly, or steem, to start making money, they will have to complete the entire course to get there.

I have made quite a few posts about steem and cryptocurrency, in general. There are posts about delegations and how they influence the blockchain, about SMT and how tribes can change steem forever, about how this may be the best time to get into crypto. I have even created a video on a similar topic talking about how easy it is to get into.

One of my best works was very relevant to the price. Talking about how people demean the coin as a shit coin, but how hypocritical it can be. The post also includes tips on how to do the most, by yourself, to help the price. See the post: this is a shitcoin.

I have made a deep dive into a controversial topic talking about whether bitcoin is perfect.

Also made posts about the marketing strategies of a major exchange, and posts about other developing cryptocurrencies.

So take your pick, and dive into my blind-spot.

I pray that you can build a similar academy in your country. I hope you can achieve your dreams from the academy program. We would not know that someday there is a steem university that everyone goes to school for

That would be really cool to have. Imagine a worldwide network of steem academics.

I know. It is indeed extraordinary. There is a school for everyone in the world
