I agree somewhat-however I would encourage a paradigm shift in order to see my view. I think some have bought in without being informed what the tokens are-rather than a commodity they have an inherent use-the traits are what are now driving value rather than just having a 100$ kitty. The traits which are desirable absolutely fetch premium prices...

It is a fickle market—I enjoy accumulating the traits and look at it as more of a hobby than an investment-I place to express creativity on he blockchain. I would not go as far as calling it a scam— caveat emptor
There are cheaper hobbies available..rather free ones :)
As for cryptokitties goes its a gamble with odds completely in favor of the developers... one is better off playing slot machines or visting a casino.
The developers are doing very well-I really enjoyed what they created and see them beginning to direct the product and it’s economy into exciting directions-we entered in its early adolescence and probably did not benefit as much as other users from the December viral buy in. I see the autobirthing being dominated by someone that isn’t making a profit edging out the competitive market in that area. I have other free hobbies but enjoy my paid ones more—I don’t think a free 3d printer or creating my own CryptoKitties dapp would be nearly as fun. I like when others choose to breed with my kitties and see what they come up with in my creation. Id like it if birthing were not priced at .008 eth that seems very high to me—I’m going to keep playing—-if you have some interesting traits in your kitties I’d be happy to buy you out so you can cut losses and find a blockchain that makes you smile to participate in!
