TRON puppies: the Next Cryptokitties?
TRON puppies: a copy of Cryptokitties?
In our previous article we discussed the rapidly growing sphere of mobile social/casual gaming, and proposed that the blueprint of cryptokitties will be used to create further alliances between cryptocurrencies and online gaming. On January 3rd Tron announced their partnership with game.com, a decentralized platform for gaming. In cooperation they are planning to release a game called TRON puppies, the deadline for the english version being released is January 22nd.
Looking at the available screenshots, it seems to be a copy of Cryptokitties, at least on the visual side of things:
Gameplay differences
Reddit user ltcisking has written a good overview of what we know so far about TRON puppies gameplay and trading system. Here are some key points:
- the player can breed the dogs, level them—and unlike Cryptokitties—do battle with them. Battle mode was a key feature in Pokemon Go, so something similar is probably what they are aiming for.
- The demand is high, currently only 10 pet shops are being released at a specific time each day, and they are sold out in a matter of seconds. The features of the game have not been fully released, but people are trading in Telegram groups and setting up shops
- There are a lot of open questions at this point in time: can shopkeepers set their own prices, how popular will it be?Also with China banning cryptocurrency exchanges the main user base in china might be affected. Another possible problem is the possibility of TRON token price blowing which would make the dogs too expensive, creating a barrier of entry for new players. If they decide to adjust the price, however, it could lessen the profits of shopkeepers.

I'm curious to see what Tron can do this year and next.
we'll wait for the English version of the tron
Yes, that is reasonable. If one is planning to set up a shop though, it would be smart to get in early.
