RE: Cryptogee Chronicles Book Two: Metal Rain - Chapter 1 - Void Edge
Thank you! I'm so excited for this one, as you may have guessed from reading some of my other posts I really relate to machinery and am often trying to delve into the mind of the as-yet-not-quite conscious machines to come.
I'm glad you primed us with the science in a previous post, also. :)
I want to do this more, but it's not always so easy :-)
Is it Nigel, Jonathan or time constraints stopping you?
If it's Nigel, he's wrong, this is excellent. If there is any open competition on Steemit, this could easily win. It could easily go in a science publication, as a wonderful short story. Or it could be expanded to novel or novella length, which would require intricate plotting, and a definitive decision on whether the machine is the hero, anti-hero, or antagonist in the story.
If it's Jonathan, he should understand that a person can do more than one thing well. This is great.
If it's time, I understand. Noone ever has enough of that.
Thanks for your kind words, it is more time; however I have a strategy for that which I learned in the book Deep Work by Cal Newport.
It's called productive meditation, and basically it means that you go for a walk (I have a dog, so perfect) in nature; I choose Hampstead Heath for this, and then quite simply think about the task in hand.
I put my phone on to airplane mode and keep it handy for the voice recorder to keep any good ideas I have.
I actually meant to do it yesterday, however I met a friend on the train platform going to walk her dog on the Heath, so instead we walked together and chatted.
So this weekend I'm going to take the dog for a couple of 1-2 hour walks and off I go!
Then next week, hit you with some more chapters.... I have a vague idea where this is going, but I need to firm it up :-)

Good luck. :)
