For a thousand of years before now, gold, silver, banknotes and fiat currencies have been the currencies spent when transactions are done. But, these transactions require exchanges to be completed. Today, there are peer to peer virtual currencies which are also known as P2P. Peer to peer currencies are electronic currencies which do not require any intermediary for completion of transactions.

Unlike traditional currencies that require financial institutions for transfers to be made between accounts, peer to peer virtual currencies do not use this method, it solely relies on the internet for transaction to be successful. The transfer of virtual currencies can happen on a laptop, mobilephones, smart phones or tablets.
