What Is Streamity?

The Streamity project appears to be a multifunctional distributed exchange that provides users with all of the standard features expected from a cryptocurrency. The most interesting aspect of the Streamity project is the fact that it plans to create a completely decentralized means of transferring both cryptocurrencies and currency without the need for a centralized third party.

While cryptocurrencies are a highly effective means of transferring value, the greater part of all crypto trades are currently conducted on centralized exchanges. This creates issues when regulatory bodies intervene, such as in the case of Coinbase in the American states of Wyoming and Hawaii.

In this particular case, Coinbase was unable to fulfill the regulatory obligations required of them by these states to operate, and thus suspended the accounts of all users from these locations until a workaround can be developed. All of these users now have the crypto assets stored on the Coinbase wallet system frozen with no recourse.

The decentralized nature of the Streamity project avoids this issue by allowing users to connect to and trade with each other directly, without the risks involved with traditional centralized exchanges.

Streamity Features

The Streamity platform is highly focused on regulatory compliance, and follows Know Your Customer principles. Smart contracts are also a focus of the Streamity development team, as is anonymity. Interestingly, Streamity has taken an approach that minimizes commissions, with commission fees ranging from 0% to 2%.
