what do normal people know about the future. Where should i start?

I am a full time doctor working in a really interesting field which i really love. Its Oncology. I haven't been engaged in any high tech or IT industry apart from working on different systems that is purely work related. Until quite recently, I wasn't aware about how fast is the world of Cryptocurrency is progressing. in fact, i just started to know more last week. I did hear about Bitcoin before, but i didn't really know what is it!! i still think that so many people don't. First, i was quite impressed to know more about it and started to talk to family members, i didn't make much sense to them, partly because i wasn't fully understanding it as i should. My level of curiosity was mounting, yet i feel it quite hard to know how it works in details.there are so many currencies and even more exchange platforms. I tried to learn by watching Vlogers on youtube interested in Crypto, thankfully there were numerous enthusiastic people talking about this and how its going to be the future payment method. to be quite honest, i felt surprising detached from this world all of a sudden, to my relief, most of the people i know have no clue about the future! at least from future finance point of view. Having said that, what does this revolution mean to normal people like me, and what is the best way to know more, invest and may be mine Cryptocurrency without spending hours downloading wallets, and keeping an eye on plenty exchange website. well, the really important question is how should i have an effective start? may be some of what i am going to say/said will sound stupid, but i have got only a laptop, do i need faster, computer to start with? do i need other hardwares?
