XYO Network: A New ICO That Could Actually Work! (And Make Us Money to)
In a world full of scam-coins and whitepapers that make idle promises or show to be the description of the 1000th useless "utility-coin", it is increasingly harder to find the gems among the many ICO's that are released every day. Therefore I'm grateful that our fellow Steemian and resident EOS-expert @dallasrushing did research on and shared his findings about the XYO Network ICO. I strongly suggest you take a look at @dallasrushing's blog, especially if you want to stay in touch with everything EOS-related.
Here's his video on YouTube:
Here's the TLDR:
The tagline on the website says: "BLOCKCHAIN JUST ENTERED THE REAL WORLD".
"With over 1 million location-verifying beacons already built, and hundreds of thousands ready to be enabled, blockchain's first crypto-location oracle network has arrived. Our mission is to enable smart contracts to interact with the real world as if it were an API. Join us in decentralizing location-reliant trade markets."
Huh? What does all that mean? An example makes it clear:
You order something at Amazon and send the money to a smart-contract where it is stored. Amazon sends the package and on the package there's a "tracker" (probably some RFID chip); now with the location beacon network they already have ready, the exact location of the package is always known. Then, when the package is delivered at your house and you sign, the money in the smart-contract is released and sent to Amazon.
With a little imagination you can think of many more use-cases for such a system. And this is only the beginning of all the pro's I see with this ICO. They claim, for example, that their blockchain will work with and on top of a plethora of other blockchains: Ethereum, Cardano, EOS, IOTA, Stellar, Neo, DragonChain and many more.
What I personally don't like is that you need to upload all your KYC info on their website. What I do like on the other hand is that no registration is needed, that buying tokens is super easy with their simple form and that they don't use any kind of referral system.

XYO is added to my short list of ICO's, so don't take this as an "unbiased" review; I just wanted to make sure you at least know about this ICO, so you can make your own informed decision.

This project seems an interesting one!
I cant seem to understand what's interesting on this. Though, i saw a post saying they are conducting a trading competition at the moment. Why is that?
I wrote this comment 8 months ago and never investigated into this ICO myself.
