RE: Cryptocurrency Ban? The Conspiracy is Real! Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter...

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

No firsthand experience, since I don't own an active YouTube channel, but it is clear for all to see what's going on. All my favorite channels are experiencing this, especially if they do any "sensitive" political content. We should not underestimate the power of these search-engine giants; more and more the internet behaves like Television in the sense that Big Money ultimately decides what we're allowed to see, hear and talk about. That's why this is so important:

"This is one of the reasons we are looking at decentralized options like Steemit and Dtube to distribute our content going forward."

I hope enough people become aware of this, but the fact that we're all here on Steemit makes em feel more optimistic about the future!

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Many people look at the degree of social response as a vote of confidence. As long as the content is not manipulated, it does serve as a quick-and-dirty way to assess how people feel about certain things. Once these "giants" manipulate things to their liking, social data becomes unreliable. This is a big problem and they cannot be allowed to do this, whether or not they're public/private companies.
