EOS Airdrops Are Dropping Every Day!

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

Following up on my recent posts on EOS, I'd like to show you all why you should install SimplEOS or another dedicated EOS-wallet.

SimplEOS has made my life a lot easier when it comes to diving into the tumultuous EOS community and blockchain. Still not everyone that holds EOS from the ICO has taken this dive yet, so a lot of potential participants of the EOS democracy are still not making their voice heard; I hope this post and all the other good news about EOS will tip the scale a bit so more votes will be cast to ensure that the best, most community-minded whales are voted in as Block-Producers.

Like I explained in my previous post on EOS, installing SimplEOS is simple and takes but a couple of minutes. I opened up my wallet today and look at what I found:

SimplEOS_Airdrops_02072018.jpg
An airdrop each day for the last 4 days!

The past 4 days, an airdrop has been coming in each day! I had only 44 EOS in it, now there's also:

  • 22 CETOS. "CETOS: Our goal is to provide an interface to existing block-chain projects, facilitating high demands of the health care industry."
  • 44 CET. "Chaince: A Superior Blockchain Asset Trading Platform Focusing on EOS Projects."
  • 44 HORUS. "HORUSpay: We are building a decentralized Global Payroll Portal that allows companies to exchange private encrypted secured data with international payroll vendors using the Blockchain."
  • 44 ATD. "Atidium is a payments & budget management decentralized application for individuals and businesses"
  • 100,000 ESB. "ESB: Peer to peer betting with no fees, transparency, security, and custom bets."
  • 402 KARMA. "KARMA is designed to incentivize users to do good in the world and receive KARMA for helping out mankind."

And keep in mind: I'm the smallest of fish in the EOS pond, and there's already some airdrops I missed because they require a minimum of 100 EOS in the wallet... Also I've seen one that had a minimum requirement of 69 EOS... funny number that... But the message here is: use a dedicated EOS wallet, you'll get the airdrops automatically. So if no registration is needed on their website or, as some demand, on their Twitter or Telegram channel, you just sit back and let the dapp-tokens flow your way :-)

One of the big airdrops that's yet to come out due to delays, is Everipedia. Their latest pinned message on Telegram:

[UPDATE: June 17, 2018] A lot of you have been waiting for updates on the IQ token airdrop. We have not released a date for when we have airdropped our tokens just yet; we are still examining some of the issues on the EOS mainnet.

Do not trust any sources who have 'confirmed dates' for when we are airdropping IQ tokens to your account. We will post an announcement in this Telegram group (and pin it) before it is released anywhere else.

You can check how much IQ tokens you'll get here:

Another reason for using a dedicated EOS wallet like SimplEOS is the voting and staking process. Voting for block producers is really easy, comparable to our own witness voting page. If you're at all concerned for the future of community based and blockchain-built democracies like Steemit or EOS, you should take your voting seriously. As you can see in the screenshot of my wallet at the start of this post, I only voted for 5 block-producers until now. The EOS community has to vote for block-producers that are in it for the blockchain as a whole and not for their own share of it, just like Steemians need to vote for community-minded witnesses :-)

You can do with this info what you please of course, but let me show you a couple of Steemit Witnesses that I think deserve your votes:

Surely I'm forgetting a couple, but that's almost all of 'm I think, the votes I cast in three months of Steemit activity: as you can see, it takes time and effort to decide for yourself which representatives are best suited for your particular vision of the community's future direction. Did you know that when Adam Smith, the grandfather of modern capitalism, wrote about his "invisible hand above the market", he actually pointed to the big industrialist's capacity to act selflessly? He counted on the "whales"' empathy and their sense of community, he never envisioned some sort of magical mechanism of supply and demand that would cause some sort of equilibrium, as it is understood now by most. Since this on-chain democracy is still so young, maybe we will be able to vote for empathic whales this time ;-)

All the above mentioned witnesses have shown to me that they are actively working to make Steemit a better place for everyone and / or are constantly trying to think of ways to improve upon the fundamentals of blockchain-governance. Also, if you use a dapp that makes your life on Steemit better, vote for the dapp-creator's withess to show your support. A lot of these witnesses don't advertise themselves at all, and if you don't go looking for them you'll never find them, so I hope my list will be of help to some starting fresh here on Steemit. I had a lot of help to when choosing these, mostly through the people I met @helpie, a community I know has the platform as a whole and especially beginners on it, as their main concern.

You can vote for Steemit witnesses here.

Let me finish on a further positive note. Blockchain news website blokt posted an article saying that the hedge-fund Multicoin Capital is going long on EOS and Ethereum and short on Ripple and Litecoin:

"Austin-based cryptocurrency hedge fund Multicoin Capital is long Ethereum as well as EOS while short both Litecoin and Ripple’s XRP."
source: blokt

Maybe, when I'm more comfortable about the block-producers myself, I'll post some recommendations on them in the future. I hope this was of some use to you, and that you keep your faith in crypto-currencies in general, and in @dan's brain-childs in particular :-) Keep Steeming!

Heads up, there is a bug in simplEOS when a user as a long history of transactions. The airdrops will disappear from the history tab as the team us the transaction log to monitor what tokens you have. They are working on a fix.

Great article, thanks for all the info.. I hold my eos on a trezor hardware wallet, do you know if I am receiving these token air drops or do I have to be on a specialized eos wallet like simpleEOS?

I am really excited about the Everpedia airdrop. I think it is going to be really cool. I am also a pretty small fish. I wish I had gotten in earlier than I did. I think with the future airdrops and dapps EOS is going to be a game changer. They have been having some growing pains, but I think all good projects endure that at some point or another.

Appreciate the support :)
