Easy to get confused with all of the different exchanges. Bittrex and Bitfinex are different aren't they? I know the latter will shut out US citizens on November 9th. This illustrates why decentralized exchanges and P2P is the way to go (using a hardware wallet).

There's likely to be actions like this around the edges of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Authority's model is to find who is in charge and make threats and/or just make business difficult for them so that it get's what it wants.

It can't do this to bitcoin though without bringing us all back to the stone age. If they did, they will have much bigger problems (no more Swift network for the banks to work on).
