HOW TO SPOT A TWITTER IMPERSONATION SCAM!

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Hi guys,

I know that not everyone has been in the blockchain space for very long and so I thought I would expose the typical impersonation scam.

Often when you follow crypto-currencies  on twitter there will a post which seems to be from the company you are following stating that they are having an ETH giveaway.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ETH GIVEAWAYS!!! THIS IS ALWAYS A SCAM!!!!!

If you send these scammers ethereum then they will just take your ethereum and wont give any back.

Fortunately spotting imposers is super easy as they will not have close to the number of followers as the company/person that they are pretending to be.

The image below shows an example of a ETH SCAM on a post by the Substratum team:

As you can see this version of Substratum has no followers and so it is obviously not the official page.

If you need to donate then why not to me? :p
