Bitcoin enthusiast Keanu Reeves says crypto currency will destroy the global elite
As cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and Lite Coin smash all records again this week, movie star Keanu Reeves has spoken out to reveal that they will "destroy the global elite" and "give power back to the people.
"The Matrix star and Bitcoin enthusiast says he believes that "Bitcoin is the future" and will "free citizens of the world from global and economic slavery.
"The famously down-to-Earth Canadian actor was shooting a promo film for his Arch Motorcycle company in Saddleback Butte State Park when he was asked on his thoughts for the future of the crypto craze, to which he said:
"This isn't just a fad, it's the future.
"The people are tired of being controlled by the banks, seeing fat-cat bankers get rich and the expense of hard-working citizens."Bitcoin is giving the power back to the people and it will destroy the oligarchs and the global elite in the process."
Unlike regular currencies, Bitcoin, and similar cryptocurrencies like Lite Coin or Ethereum, is a decentralized currency meaning it works without a central bank or single administrator.
Transactions for Bitcoin take place from user to user so payments go directly through the use of cryptography, without an intermediary, making the need for banks obsolete.
Up until the last couple of months, banks assumed that crypto posed little threat to their financial stronghold over the world, but with Bitcoin exploding over the last few weeks, cryptocurrency has truly begun to go mainstream.
The value of Bitcoin has more than doubled in the last month alone, and those who are now investing in digital currencies are cashing in as values continue to break records as prices soar.
In the last year, the value has increased from around $1000 for 1 Bitcoin to almost $20,000.
Tech guru John McAfee even went as far to say that if the value doesn't reach $1million by the year 2020, then he will "eat his own penis on live TV."
According to Keanu Reeves, the Bitcoin craze is more than just an investment opportunity, but more of a "revolution," saying:
"For the first time in history, the people have a real chance at taking power back from the governments.
"When society chooses crypto over the fiat, the government, the central banking system, the economic slavery that they thrive on, all of that will be over.
"Governments borrow money from the banks to fund wars then tax the citizens to pay back the banks.
"We can finally end that cycle and give power back to the people, once and for all.
"It will topple the banks, and with it, the global elite.
"Governments will be forced to work for the people for a change.
"We're on the brink of a revolution."
As the holiday season approaches, Bitcoin is even threatening to steal gold's thunder.
