Civic announces KYC service with Votem election token
The Civic utility will provide re-usable KYC services for token sales and ICO's.
Partnering with Votem, Civic will provide re-usable KYC services for the sale of "Secure Agreements for Future Tokens" (SAFT) for VAST, an EIP-20 token.
The VAST token will be a tool that can be used to process elections with voter registrations, ballot creation and marking, and even tallying and results reporting, including auditing capabilities. Using Civic as the KYC tool to verify identity, the partnership is an excellent match, revealing some of the great potential of identity verification blockchain tools.
This brings a decentralised solution to the democratic process - an important tool in many areas of the world experiencing social unrest and corruption. It also provides a valid utility case for the Civic token, which can, of course, also be used for numerous other identity-verification needs at a much lower cost than traditional methods. Real-world use-cases for Civic should continue to be revealed as the company has been working furiously at adding partnerships over recent months.
Civic has been laying low since the bear cycle began in January. Traders have responded positively with strong price movement for the token since the announcement. Civic is continuing positive movement despite the dip in much of the market.
