Saw some speculation concerning the performance would be 25% higher than a Fury X. I have absolutely no idea whether it's true or not, but the RX Vega does not seem like a good mining card. Gamers care less about TDP, plus TDP does not equal power draw. We will just have to see when independent reviewers post results!
i agree to a point, i was in high hopes of it being a great mining card, i was planning to pick up a few.. but its looking more and more to be an average card that is already available on the market.. just maybe a little better at things like zcash and eth due to the special memory... Most gpu miners run between 65-75% tdp, so the tdp watts really do make a difference especially if its not really all that more powerful than a fury x
My point regarding TDP is Nvidia and AMD (and Intel for that matter) calculate TDP differently, plus TDP is Thermal Design Power and not power draw.
Fx. 480 has a TDP of 150W, BUT the power draw is around 164 for the reference model(stock). To make matters even worse the GTX 1070 has a TDP of 150W but a powerdraw around 148W. This is super confusing, and it properly will be too for the Vega card, but we can't say much about powerdraw until the cards are tested. :)
