The TRON TRX Mainnet is live as of May 31, and it seems to have been a minor blip on the radar. This is the road to "The Call for Independence" as Justin Sun likes to say. Justin also likes to tweet in very dramatic style, like announcing the new partnership with NASDAQ. All this news is supposed to be major, yet it doesn't reflect on TRX prices.

What TRON is doing right now is preparing its independence from the ETHEREUM platform which it is based on. That means converting ERC20 tokens that were used to raise initial funds for the projects into native TRX. So TRX is now officially free from ETH, which means it will have its own platform for DApps. Another good news for developers is that TRX smart contracts are not locked on Solidity, they can support other languages like JAVA. Best of all is that TRX will not be limited by ETH's network scaling issues. That means the potential to > 1,000 TPS and much lower fees that don't charge ETH gas or gwei. So transactions are practically free or a fraction of the smallest denomination of TRX. Right now the focus of the development team is still network security, which they really take seriously with the bug bounty program. Projects like Verge have already proven vulnerable, many times over so inviting the community to help look for bugs is really great for securing the network. Next up for the TRX team is the TVM launch for July 31, the showdown with ETH.
