Apple to add a crypto as payment option after adding PayPal?
Apple has added PayPal as a payment option in their App Store and iTunes. See:

For many Apple users without a credit card this is great news. But the question is... what's next? Surely, the easier it is to pay the more Apple will benefit so they're always looking at payment options.
I believe the current payment options are it for now until Apple decides to add a crypto as a payment option, because that should be the next step. Credit cards and PayPal aren't going anywhere soon but the crypto's are slowly taking over and there comes a time that Apple has a chance to take a leading role as a major company in the crypto space.
Now, this won't happen any time soon because the crypto market space is extremely immature but IF and WHEN Apple decides to do this, it will be an extremely HUGE deal. From that moment on millions and millions of Apple users will be exposed to crypto's. Knowing Apple they will have figured out how crypto's need to be implemented in their OS with ease of use as a key feature.
Trust in that specific crypto will increase, that crypto will go the moon.
Currently Apple is holding back apps that work with some cryptos like Dash for example (a Jaxx update wasn't allowed because Apple rejected the implementation of Dash)... this means that they have crypto policies in place for and within their ecosystem. A good question is which cryptos are allowed in third party apps right now an why.
But the time will come that Apple will choose a crypto to accompany their current payment options and even integrate it in their own Wallet app. The sooner this happens, the better...
Feel free to upvote, comment and resteem. And, as always... keep up the good work and may the Steem be with you!
I wouldn't be shocked if them and google Microsoft use an ERC20 token or are working on their own token/crypto to use as payment but only issue is they would have to make sure it don't crash
That is also a possibility but I don't really see why... what would be the advantage for Apple of having their own crypto?
I actually think (it's a long shot, but possible) that in the future app stores themselves will be hosted on blockchain technology. Something similar to the ethereum smart-contract feature. This would open up Apple to having their own crypto. They have the development power and funds to support such a project. But obviously that's a huge undertaking, even for them.
Thanks for posting! Was a good read.
Thanks mate. And thanks for your comment.
Yes they could easily create and host their own blockchain with a crypto... but I don't really see why they would do it, what would be the advantage for them in your opinion?
