What Is Cryptocurrency? How how to get started!

Hey Guys,

Cryptocurrency and Cryptoassets have been around for over 10 years now, but are just starting to take off. Political reasons aside, I feel “Crypto” as we call it, is here to stay, and will only grow exponentially in the coming years. It is a great hedge against physical money as we know it, as it is not controlled by a single government but is decentralized through a technology called Blockchain. Bitcoin is getting a lot of attention these days as digital store of value (like digital gold) but blockchain technology will have many use cases as it is a way to prove the validity of transactions. Think health care records, credit scores, supply chain management, etc….. The great thing about blockchain? Since the records are kept on there via provable transactions done by a peer to peer network, it is immutable. The records can’t be hacked, they can’t be altered as the information is not centralized and if messed with other peers will reject it. . There is so much more but this is where I leave you the tools to research on your own and then come back to me with any questions.

Why am I doing this? I feel it is important to let my friends know that this emerging tech is gonna change the way we do things, how we earn “money”, and how we work. Got into this 5 months ago after tiring of hearing about inflation rates in Zimbabwe and Venezuela and how much Govt really has control over our money. That is basically it. There is no catch, I am not asking you for investment, none of that. Just to look into this and maybe see the power of what I see.
