Basic Attention Token. The BAT, a token based on the Ethereum technology, is a unit of exchange in a new Blockchain based digital advertising system. User attention is privately monitored in the Brave browser and publishers are rewarded accordingly with BATs. Users also get a share of BATs for participating.

To undertake the issue, the web browser Brave have announced a unique way to incentivize web users to pay attention to Ads: by removing the ads and providing the option to get paid for switching them back on.
So, in a nutshell, you get paid for every Ad you give your attention.
How do you get Paid?
You can correlate with Steemit. Here we can pay in Steem and Brave Web user will get paid in a token, which is called Basic Attention Token (BAT)

I didn't only find it interesting, I found it fascinating!
It's a way to go. But with the invention of the blockchain, at least for the end user, like us, will have some power. We always have been ignored. Glad you find it interesting.
Hmm..question is how this is gonna work and if its gonna work.
Most of us don't want to pay no attention to ads and probably wont even if we get paid a buck for it.
And how do they actually measure user attention?
Is it if the user don't click away? If so, you can just leave the ad on and do something else with you attention, intentionally not taking in the message.
"The Attention Value for the ad will be calculated based on incremental duration and pixels in view in proportion to relevant content, prior to any direct engagement with the ad. "

Right now it's very vague in concept, at least user attention part of it. How web user will get an incentive for Add view. Yes, you are right, we don't have much clarity. And Moreover, how long we have to watch any add or put our attention into it- not so clear.
