Once again, it's not the name, it's the actual marketting strategy behind it. BMW is a pretty uninteresting name, but due to the marketting team, they are one of the most popular brands out there. It sticks.
BMW is a great name. 3 letters long, easy to remember and flows smoothly when you say it.
It's not about how attractive a name may or may not be. There is more to it than that.
Twitter for example is an amazing name, yet many would have originally called it lame. No one calls it lame anymore it's doing its job nicely. It's a great brand name for a social media website. Swarm City would be a much better name for a social media website as well.
Swarm City is unique, but it's not a name meant for an ecommerce platform. It's a very odd choice and to find out Arcade City was the previous name is even more strange!
What are the chances that both names they chose were (word) City? Apparently they really wanted to use a .city domain name. It's very ambitious of them in 2017. Maybe in 2020 it would be easier to use such a name.
Currently you must use a .com .co or .io because the average person doesn't even know about .city so they can get confused.
A good name needs to be easy to remember this is a must.
Swarm.City is not easy to remember. For me it is. For many it won't be. They may forget that it's swarm.city and try SwarmCity.com for example.
You don't want to be too different. Most people are scared to try new things.
You need to realize that the movie "Idiocracy" is somewhat of a reality. Lol
