I bought an old used computer and I found 150 bitcoins. What do I do?

Dear BTC lovers & dreamers,

Bitcoins can’t be “found” on a computer. It’s possible (but unlikely) that you’ve stumbled upon a Private Key or a Wallet (an unsecure wallet, which will host a public and private key) . That Private Key is your access link into the one decentralized Bitcoin blockchain.

If you do have the private key to 150BTC , I would do a few things.

  • The first is I would order a Hard wallet (a Trezor or Nano Ledger) so that you can keep it safe, off the blockchain.
  • Second, I’d create an Exodus wallet (exodus.io), and send the BTC there until the hard wallet appears.
  • Third, get educated on other major crypto and blockchain project.
  • Forth, open a exchange account that will allow you to turn some of those cryptos back to FIAT in the future.
  • Fifth, do everything in your power to educate yourself on how to become a better person and a wise investor. I’d read books like “ The Wealthiest Man in Babylon” and “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali” Stumbling into wealth isn’t the same as earning, and could become a curse.
  • Sixth, learn to give, to share, to donate, and love.
  • Seventh, wake up from the dream of finding 150BTC. Hit the snooze button, or get up and go be the best you can be with what you have!
