G20 Leaders Call for Cryptocurrency Taxation

The G20 leaders have called for cryptocurrency taxation and increased regulation during this weekend's summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to Japanese news outlet Jiji.com, the final text of a document jointly delivered by G20 leaders calls for “a taxation system for cross-border electronic payment services.”

G20 leaders “will consider the issue during 2019 when Japan will be the president of the summit.” After considering proposals from each member state, a final version of regulations is reportedly expected to be in place by 2020.
