Competing Versions of Bitcoin Cash Ahead of Hardfork

Bitcoin Cash has a hardfork coming up on November 15th.

Data suggest it could split into 2 factions - Bitcoin SV led by chief scientist of nChain Craig Wright (allegedly self-proclaimed to be THE Satoshi Nakamoto), and Bitcoin ABC supported by "Bitcoin Jesus" Roger Ver.

Hash power estimates show that Bitcoin SV is more popular amongst mining pools. Almost three quarters of network hashing power is controlled by CoinGeek, SVPool, BMG Pool, okminer and mempool, and all of these mining pools have publically indicated support for Bitcoin SV.

Conflicting data however shows that Bitcoin ABC may be running on more nodes. Of the 2,246 nodes running on the Bitcoin Cash network, 1,079 are Bitcoin Cash ABC nodes, while 166 are Bitcoin Cash SV nodes.

If Bitcoin SV miners maintain more than 51 percent of the current network’s existing hash power, Craig Wright has already implied that he would support killing the Bitcoin ABC implementation by mining empty blocks on the network after the coin splits.

Roger Ver has publicly retracted his previous support of Wright, claiming that he "may have been fooled by Wright."

This is a juicy little crypto drama that will likely continue to unfold.
