STAYING SAFE DURING ICO’s.

It might come as a surprise for some that phishing scams are still prevalent and common within the crypto community, But there are some simple steps you can take to ensure you stay safe during your next ICO!

  • Get MetaMask & EAL

MetaMask

EAL

Both of these extensions could one day save you from making a costly mistake, Both MetaMask and EAL maintain a database of current phishing sites and will warn you if you navigate to the wrong address.

  • Bookmark the ICO website

It might seem like something simple and small, but bookmarking the ICO website means you won’t risk clicking on links sent to you via IM or other methods, scammers rely on you clicking their fake links to fool you, so by bookmarking your own links you won’t fool for this scam!

  • NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PRIVATE KEY

If the website is asking you for your private key, it’s a scam.

You should NEVER give your private key out to ANYONE.

ICO’s can be exciting and stressful times, understand that these are the same reasons scammers target users during ICO’s, when users are more inclined to act impulsively.

Just remember to be careful and diligent when investing into ICO’s.

Until next time,
