Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg said that one aspect of his yearly personal challenge will be to study cryptocurrency and to explore how it can be used within Facebook.
Zuckerberg published a Facebook post on Thursday in which he outlined his personal goal for 2018. The main goal is, essentially, to fix the problems within Facebook that have caused controversy. “We won’t prevent all mistakes or abuse, but we currently make too many errors enforcing our policies and preventing misuse of our tools,” Zuckerberg wrote. “If we’re successful this year then we’ll end 2018 on a much better trajectory.”
But further on in his post, Zuckerberg outlined two areas of technology that he wanted to research in 2018: Encryption and cryptocurrencies. He said that both technologies lead to decentralised power, which Zuckerberg saw as a positive move.

Zuckeberg's obviously been following the rise of steemit and is now looking for a way to incorporate the FaceCoin into the Facebook platform.

Too little to late. The steem networks are going to bump: facebook, youtube, reddit, and most pay for play news media outlets. I used to use facebook for current events and news. Half of the links to outside articles were limited access to content to 3 articles a month or so many adds that it detracted from the content. I am excited about news being moved over to a platform where authors can get paid withou obnoxious adds.
I use Facebook for contacting people I'd otherwise have difficulty getting into contact with. I hardly spend any time on it any longer.
Facebook is great to contact friends and family, but steemit will for sure beat reddit and medium.com

hope so but if this happens it will definitely effect the steemit because Face book now the competitor of google adsense and youtube after the launching of instant artical and motorization on video for contant creator and very soon they are going to launch the application like youtube

Wow that's a big leap for FB. I don't think it will work soon cause there's a lot of FB hackers, unless they use high-security logins, it's risky.

he says he will start to STUDY cryptocurrency ? He know everything about cryptocurrency already, I am sure about that. we will soon se facebookcoin on the market. But if he doesn't implement the same system as steemit, the Facebook will die anyway. but I am sure he know what he's doing
Hi @tradewonk I saw this yesterday. It’s interesting but I think he may be worried because once Steemit gets the exposure it deserves Facebook will have a problem on their hands. I’m definitely curious to see what he does.
