SUCCESSFUL TOKEN SALES OF LAST WEEK:

BANCOR (BNT) has set a new industry record raising more than $150m, attracting around 11,000 buyers, according to the data available. 50% of the total token amount was sold during the Token Sale and the remaining amount has been allocated for future use. Investors had the option of paying with FIAT during the presale period, while US residents were allowed to participate with BTC and ETH payments only. The Bancor team has yet to announce the exchanges where BNT will be listed, but it looks like we won't wait long.
Tokenguide Team thoughts: Considering there is still an army of those who missed the Token Sale due to technical issues (insufficient gas limit, again), we might see a nice multiplicator start.

ZrCoin (ZRCOIN), a Russian industrial startup, raised $7m from 4,000 investors during a month-long crowdsale. The ZrCoin team is going to use these funds to build their first synthetic zirconium dioxide production facility. The crowdsale raised $1m during the first 24 hours and the strong bullish market helped it keep up the pace thereafter. The Token Sale was not available for US residents.
Tokenguide team: we decided to pass on that, there are quite a lot of projects in this area with much stronger teams and better developed legal structures (which is certainly the toughest challenge in this kind of projects).

Patientory (PTOY), a US-based company, finished their Token Sale in three days, raising $7.2m. 65% of these funds were collected during the first 24 hours of the Token Sale.
Tokenguide team: we made a decision not invest, nevertheless this is a project we will be looking at closely, mostly because as far as we know, this was the first instance of a Blockchain-based Healthcare Product being released for Token Sale.

Voise (VSM), the team behind the idea for a decentralized music streaming platform, have finished their 30-day crowdsale, collecting around $0.7m from 392 participants. EtherDelta and LiveCoin exchanges confirmed that they will list VSM tokens.
Tokenguide team: too amateur, with such projects as PeerTracks, Bittunes and Soundchain this team just seem to be at the very beginning of their way. Besides, is seems strange that a tokens from the seed round went to exchanges so fast.

Ethereum.link (LNK), a concept connecting traditional markets and crypto-industry, collected $1.5m from 683 buyers during their 40-day crowdsale campaign. Token Sale was not available for US, Hong Kong and Singapore residents.
Tokenguide team: we decided not invest, not enough information, and very doubtful decision to just ignore the legal aspects which are crucially important for that kind of startup.

LESSONS LEARNED

Metal (METAL), looked like a very promising startup developing a platform for blockchain-based reward programs and boasting an astonishing advisory board. However, despite great looks, the sale got cancelled almost immediately after opening. The team cited legal issues that they were unable to resolve. However, it appears that the pre-sale did not run into any problems and the team says that the tokens distributed this way will soon be listed on exchanges. The lesson from all this? A strong team is good, a strong advisory board is better, but it's the legal team that can make or break a token sale.
