Is Tether A Scam?

Hi Guys,

I'm a crypto newb, just trying to figure out how to NOT get ripped off or robbed. Is Tether a scam? I was looking for a place to park a few hundred dollars in order to make payments and also lock in my Etherium gains.

Someone in the know told me that Tether MAY Be faking having reserves.

Thoughts on this?!
