It is a self-governed cryptocurrency-only portfolio and it employs a technological strategy called SMARTER THAN BETA (for optimization) which has beaten index funds and the average managed fund.
STC is the world’s first cryptocurrency-only SMARTER THAN BETA tokenized portfolio to maintain different portfolio of up to 20 cryptocurrencies (by market capitalization). The SMARTER THAN BETA strategy guarantees 40% more returns and 40% less risk. More interesting is the fact that SMARTER THAN CRYPTO employs a process called ‘rebalancing’ to regularly adjust its asset portfolio.
RATIONALE BEHIND A SMARTER THAN CRYPTO STRATEGY
Since its inception in 1976, Index tracker funds and SMART BETA strategies has been on a perpetual growth. Amongst others, its low-cost has placed it on top among the vast number of active managers in the market. Without relying on a single asset, the STB strategy follows the trend behind the selection of assets. The STC can only be bought with crypto and holds only cryptocurrencies. It increases liquidity and brings stability to the ecosystem.
There is however an increase in the number of exchanges, services and payment methods in purchasing cryptocurrencies making it a less easier for investors to purchase cryptocurrencies. Most investors sees cryptocurrencies as unacceptable risk and SMARTER THAN CRYPTO aims to reduce the risk as low as possible.
SMART CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS
The smat contract is complacent with the ERC20 token standard and can work with any Ethereum wallet. Its ICO specifies a start date and an end date. Participants can employ the buyTo functions or directly sending ether to the contract. The purchase amount is used to compile the tokens bought and then added to the balance of the participant account. When applying the buyTo function, the participant account is the specified address, which gives room for future development.
The smart contract possesses a functionality that gives different level of authority to two controlling wallets. Reasons for employing the Ethereum Blockchain include:

• Easier listing on exchanges
• Security and predictability
• Use of vigorous and reliable clients
• Transparency in liquidation option.
LIQUIDATION OPTION
This option offers protection which ensures the price stays above that of the underlying assets due to market manipulation. However, prices can increase in proportion to the high demand for a low-cost, diversified and automated cryptocurrency portfolio. To facilitate this option, the smart contract holds a small allocated percentage of SMARTER THAN CRYPTO’s assets (in ether). This amount is automatically controlled as usage demands. STC tokens are normally transferred back to SMARTER THAN CRYPTO’s wallets in the instance of a withdrawal, which are then resold on exchange at the current NAV per token or market price, depending on the one that is higher.
TOKEN DISTRIBUTION
To ensure that team incentives are aligned with ICO participants, the SMARTER THAN CRYPTO team tokens will vest over two years. Once the ICO has been completed and and the underlying assets have been acquired, tokens becomes transferable and tradable. Investments can be made in ETH, BTC or LTC, whose USD equivalent will be locked in at the time of investment in accordance to market rates and considered the participant’s contribution.
