RE: Why Bitcoin is Different & Cartel Manipulation Discussion

Great series idea btw.
Like a casual podcast regarding blockchain/crypto minus the shilling folks do.

It's funny how you bring up the distrust of the government ....yes that's why i myself got into crypto currency and its a distrust within my family history. My great grandfather came from Sicily in the mid 20's ,and built a small business from scratch...he bought Gold in small quantities for the simple reason ...immigrants didnt trust banks (back then)
According to my grandfather when this happened....my great grandfather lost 10 years worth of saving...

think about that for a second...you work hard & save up for 10 years.
Suddenly its gone.

The country he loved so much...took away everything he toiled for.
He felt betrayed, he left Sicily to live the American dream.
And it failed him to an extent.

He kept working and had a successful career but according to my family....was never the same.

Bitcoin has that libertarian philosophy staunchly behind it...now will it succeed in the end,But im a realist...so i honestly cant say.

But there are alot of forces that definitely will slow down crypto currency adoption in many ways.
Ive spoken to other hedge funds ,where MDs (managing directors)are directing people to research certain crypto currency .

Not all.

Some will adopted quicker, some simply will not.

Stop worrying about cartels folks, and learn how finance works.
Plenty of great books on investment & its history

Manipulation has been around a long time. (Especially when i saw 20-30 BTC controlling that market....that's 210k...that's nothing)

If its easier for you to do this type of series,do it @cryptovestor
The flow of the video was pretty smooth & content was excellent.

Cheers.

Technicalwealth, thanks for sharing your personal story. Sorry to hear your great-grandfather had to give up his gold. Apparently many people did not comply with this. A number of years ago, I asked a family friend who remembered the gold confiscation order and he said that no, they did not give up their gold.

As a another cautionary tale on overtrust of fiat and the government, my grandfather was a young physician who had saved up a bit of money but the currency got inflated away and so the family went hungry for a while.

Tough times back then.
