KeepKey is the latest Multi-supporting Crypto Hardware Wallet to hit the Market, offering offline storage for a variety of Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Testnet, Litecoin, Namecoin, Dogecoin, and Dash. This is a Micro USB to USB device featuring a Built-in Screen that stores and secures your Cryptocurrency via an offline device accessible only to the end-user

When you entrust KeepKey with your Cryptocurrency Holdings, each and every transaction must be approved via it's OLED display and built-in confirmation button. Making it nearly impossible for virtual attackers to directly steal from you since the device can be managed offline and should be left with you for safekeeping

When you own Cryptocurrencies there is a need to protect confidential data and the access to your funds, since Hacking/Online Theft cases like Mt.Gox prove that no state of the art security offered by Third-party services can guarantee full assurance that your Token are safe from prying hands. A lot can still go wrong with Hardware Wallets but the likelihood of exposing yourself to Hackers is significantly reduced

Keepkey integrates existing supported popular Cryptocurrency Clients however Developers released an Official Chrome Extension allowing the individual to manage their Private key generation, private key storage, and transaction signing via Keepkey Device. The Team has been busy working around the clock with Third-party Services to integrate Keepkey's Model with popular existing Wallets like Electrum and MultiBit HD however when compared to The Ledger or Trezor it falls short on the number of supported Wallet Clients

It is required to install the Official Google Chrome extension, to interact with Keepkey main functions by connecting the device to your computer which will in response allow it's user to physically verify any further confirmations through a Glossy OLED Display with an instant click of a button

Note that Keepkey does not have an operating system that powers the Device, similar to how your computer or mobile phone function. Instead, once powered via a Micro-USB connection the program environment which is also known as “bare-metal'' will recognize KeepKey supported application to run off the device restricting any operating system from interacting with the Device directly when it comes to Blockchain related activities

Keepkey's Software is Open-source so any modifications can be done to the firmware or user can even create their own software to run of the Keepkey Device. As a security precaution, KeepKey will automatically flash a warning message during the boot sequence to indicate that unofficial firmware is running

Similar to Nano Ledger S which also uses a Chrome app, Keepkey will request it's users to write down a mnemonic phrase, and protect it with a 4-digit PIN. With KeepKey you have just one password to remember. If you lose or break the device itself, all you need to do just purchase another Device and use your 12 words to restore all your virtual Digital Tokens

To get started, users are expected to write down their passphrase in order of storing it away safely, this is the One-Time Password that help you restore any funds. Once you completed this step, Keepkey will request you to prompt your name my wallet and asked to create a 4 digit PIN, this 4-digit code to access your Wallet in the future, users will be then asked to install official Keepkey Chrome extensions

What would happen if you lose your Keepkey Device due to an unfortunate situation? As long as you have access to the recovery sentence you wrote down during initialization, you can recover your bitcoins on any wallet that supports BIP39 and BIP44. You can also recover your bitcoins on a new KeepKey: this method ensures you do not expose your private key off the device

Just like any other Hardware Cryptocurrency Wallet out there, it safely stores your Private Keys away in an offline storage within a protected area of a microcontroller, and cannot be transferred out of the device in plaintext, so you can rest assured that Hackers have little opportunity of directly accessing a Device that is not plugin or connected over the Internet. This a Multi-signature hardware wallet for Cryptocurrency holders that aims to eliminate the number of attack vectors through the use of a second security layer

Hardware wallets are basically Electronic Dongles with chipsets dedicated to specifically manage & store your Cryptocurrency Keys. Everything is done under-the-bonnet and your Private keys never leave the device. Using their own native Clients (or so called Chrome Extension or supported third-party apps, organize Digital tokens ensuring that Transactions are signed and broadcasted to the Blockchain only with validations on the physical dongle

The content of the box includes the Official KeepKey hardware Device, a Micro-USB to USB wrapped cable, a blank card for the purpose of recording recovery sentence/code, manual paper instruction, and a leather case

Based on our findings, we can conclude that KeepKey is still a relatively new Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet when compared to The Ledger & Trezor Models and has had few issue which users have openly stated about that one should consider before purchasing this device

The Recent Integration of Shapeshift.io has resulted in some User's not receiving the payout, this is a common issue where User funds need to be recovered, Customer Support comes in handy to assure that this is a common issue with Shapeshift Integration and that your funds can be recovered. MyCryptoMark Team recommends users to use Exodus Official Desktop Client when it comes to converting Cryptocurrency between one another due to fact they have excellent Customer Service & Smooth integration of Shapeshift

If you're thinking about Security, Keepkey Hardware Wallet would make a solid contender for those that seek to store Cryptocurrencies offline & away from thieving hands. With KeepKey there is just one password to remember, meaning that in a scenario where you could end up losing or accidentally destroying your KeepKey you can rest assured that for as long as you remember the original 12 words password set, you'll be able to recover all your Tokens in the event that you don't have access to a function device

In terms of Pricing, Keepkey is categorized as higher price model since it's one of the most expensive Multi-signature Hardware Wallet to purchase, with similar pricing of Trezors Model. However for the priced paid, you're bound to receive of the most high-Quality designed Hardware Wallet, as Keepkey has by far one the best glossy screens available featuring a 256×64 3.12″ OLED

Keepkey also known for it's Slogan ''A Simple Bitcoin Wallet'' has made extremely user-friendly to set up your Hardware Wallet in no time, we at MyCryptoMark found that this is one the easiest Wallets to set up, so this is definitely a Grandma friendly product

Conclusion

With it's model out for more than 3 years, Keepkey has proved that it's a worthy contender when it comes to Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet, proving that their Model has all the basic Functions and if not more features to help ensure that it's User with little technical understanding get to enjoy ease of safely storing their Cryptocurrencies. Anodized Aluminum Case & Polycarbonate Front make this one of the sleekest Doodles out there, this could be ideal for those struggling to get their heads wrapped around Blockchain Activities, as they can get a clear visual on how to interact with the device via it's built-in Screen

By far it's the sleekest, Easiest to use & Multi-Cryptocurrency hardware wallet at the current price range. In addition, the larger screen make it more visually pleasing to work with long complicated keywords, those with troubled eye-sight may not like the small screen offered by other existing Hardware Wallets

There is no such thing as absolute security, but the goal of hardware wallets is to make any potential attack more difficult and resource-intensive. Ledger is no exception – it is designed to render attacks impractical by raising the bar. AND which Ledger Device are you referring too?? 2 of the popular models don't have a screen, while it helps keep the cost down and allows designers to create a truly pocketable device, it also provides slightly lower levels of security than a device with a dedicated screen. Trezor & Keepkey are more secure

Got A Ledger Nano S & Trezor, however Trezor is way safer than the Ledger. Keepkey definitely has a nice & sharp OLED Screen, would consider this!

Requires Google Chrome Extension for Backup Process

and…

Most Secure Crypto Hardware Wallet

… does not go together :)

Keepkey is really secure when it comes to Security and Open-souce Software! Having looked into the top 3 models such as the Keepkey, The Ledger & Trezor, I can clearly say that Ledger is the least secure! Keepkey uses a similar code based software that Trezor uses, both of them would make Secure Wallets however owning a Keepkey & Ledger, Keepkey Hardware Wallet is definitely features more Security! Not that many Hardwallets out there in the first place

There is no better security than paper wallets

The Safest Method! Definitely, Recommend this to other's especially on tied budget!

I am not convinced. The ledger Nano has a certified secure hardware (common criteria evaluation). I recall Trezor is FIPS certified.

Is there a reason hardware wallets' extensions are exclusive to Chrome?

Skip to the 2:18, Chrome seems to be the popular choice for now. Video is a bit old

Ok, thanks. I'm in a loud environment right now, so I'll watch these later.
