BCShop: An online marketplace for the decentralised economy

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

BCShop is a decentralised online marketplace that enables "sellers" to list products they have for sale. Users offering services aren't left out as well; service offerings can be listed on the on the platform, to boost marketability and sales.

Being on-chain, BcShop has a trust mechanism in tow, which is effected by the use of smart contracts.

The platform also makes use of an escrow service, which can be used to add another layer of trust.

textgram_1529396697-2.jpgwith the added layer of security-escrow included, buyers and sellers can carry out exchanges without fear.

Certain conditions have to be met before payments are realised. Funds are not realised, until there is confirmation from the buyer that the buyer has received his/her product(s) or service(s).

On the marketplace, Ethereum (ETH) is the fuel that powers the ecosystem.

There is a transaction fee of 0.8% when the escrow service is made use of, and this comes down to 0.4%, if the transaction is completed without the use of the escrow service.

BCShop hopes that with their platform in tow, BCShop hopes to reinvent the way digital goods are sold, and also improve the way payments are handled.

USE CASES
Rodrigo has a well established Web design agency, and wants his business to be all-inclusive, also not leaving any money on the table. He has also been hoping for an easy way for users to be able to pay for services rendered by his agency, using cryptos.

Rodrigo specifically states the price is USD, so clients can send the equivalent in ETH.

Seeing Rodrigo is established, his clients are confident about carrying out transactions without the use of the escrow service, and they make 50% savings of transaction fees.

When users place orders and wish to pay using Ethereum, Rodrigo's firm makes a request for client’s name, and then they have a deal.

René is an upcoming Android app developer, who wishes to accept cryptos in exchange for her services. She puts up details on BCShop, and waits for clients. Seeing she isn't well known, prospective clients are a bit skeptical, hence they make use of the escrow service to be protected.

On completion of the job, the client let's the escrow know that service has been rendered, and René's funds are released to her. Seeing the client made use of the escrow service, there will be a charge of 0.8% in this case.

Everyone wins.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

The design above is a straight forward infographic that potential customers can look at, and have an idea about what they can achieve with the platform. Keeping it simple is key, so that as many users as possible can get the central idea, irrespective of their level of understanding.
