Note to Coinbase Users - Coinbase Recommendation: migrate from Authy to Google Authenticator

Fresh out of the Inbox!!

We strongly recommend you update your second-factor verification to Google Authenticator. Authy and SMS are vulnerable to phone porting attacks. Device based Authenticator apps like Google Authenticator mitigate this by being linked to your device, not your phone number.

To increase your security:

Download an Authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator) from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store
See our step-by-step support guide for detailed instructions below: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2684672-installing-google-auth
You will be prompted to complete these steps the next time you log in to your account using an SMS or Authy code. Please note that as of July 31, 2017, we will be requiring that all customers with significant balances use an Authenticator app as their second-factor verification.

Google Authenticator is solid. Just make sure you use strong, unique passwords for everything. You don't want one hack taking down all your accounts.
