RE: I can't ignore what's wrong with Bitcoin
For people who can't afford or dont want to lose the money they have invested, I can understand if they sell. They don't need to justify their situation to anyone else.
For some people though, it's about making a stand on the principle of decentralization. The centralized authorities can scare the speculators out of the market, but they can't scare the idealists away.
Those who are in it for the principles it represents will keep promoting and using Bitcoin despite the price fluctuations, because they know the end goal is worth more than the profit they make (or potentially don't make) along the way.
those principles are better represented by other coins, more so than Bitcoin
Would you say XMR is one of those?
you phrase that like it's a trick question... hmmmm? perhaps I don't know enough about XMR to answer it, but I do know what I know about Bitcoin, and so does everyone else
Oh no. Honest question that one. I liked the video the other day of the Coinbase presentation by the Monero developer. I'd class myself as an XMR holder. I think it has taken on some of the qualities that Bitcoin was aiming for, but lost along the way, as it was discovered how to track the transactions.
I support XMR 100%, I had 100 XMR but sold it yesterday for being too in sink with bitcoin fluctuations, if coinbase adds XMR or if the price crashes because of bitcoin, I will buy more XMR
