Presearch defines a new path

in #cryptocurrency5 years ago

In the first days of this month of February users of Presearch found a novelty: we were warned that now in our account was going to appear a number from 0 to 10 that would indicate our level and that depending on it we would be able to dispose more or less of the PRE harvested.

The Presearch team points out that with this measure it seeks to combat abuse and guide the use of the platform with the purpose for which it was created, that is, as a content search engine. If the level of the account is low it is because the algorithm designed for this purpose has detected that the use made is not genuine, but has only tended to accumulate PRE.

It can be a bit unfriendly to find now that they have a low level (such is my case, since until now I only wanted to accumulate my 8 daily PREs), but it is still true that good use should be encouraged if it is expected that platforms like these thrive.

However, I believe that the way in which this new factor was implemented is not the correct one. Because the truth is that as the platform was designed one had no choice but to "abuse" it, that is, to procure 8 daily PRE to reach the 1000 PREs needed to dispose of them as soon as possible and not fall behind the the rest. And it is conceivable that they have done it in this way to prevent or delay a massive sale of PRE. Because we can well ask how many users would have to reach that minimum amount that would enable them to go to the exchange.

However, for my part I started using it more or less as Google used, I will probably not acquire 8 daily PRE, but my level will go up and over time, if the platform is consolidated, it can be expected that the value of the PRE go up. We will see.

It is clear that the prosperity of blockchain platforms is linked to their use is not apart from the purpose for which they were created and in that sense should be directed the strategies that are designed.

Platforms like Steemit should follow that line as well; This implies, in my opinion, that there should be a specific penalty for those who abuse it, perhaps subtracting the Steem Power. It could be considered low reputation, of course, but before it would be necessary to discriminate the low reputation due to the abuse of that due to other factors such as the short age of the account, the little use of it, its poor harvest of votes, etc.
