I see same questions over and over on reddit, and typing answer every time is boring as hell, so I decided to slowly start building up not only crypto currency, but also general computer/internet/money use guide.
In the end these are just my thoughts and critical feedback is welcome.
MINING
- cloud mining is ponzi/scam
- big mining farms make solo mining pointless
- if you really want to mine, join a pool
- calculating break even point is tricky, you have to take into account future mining difficulty increase, electricity costs, graphic card price (and the fact that new better cards will be released which makes it harder to sell yur old ones)
- mining isn't for you, if you are forced to sell all mined crypto, just to cover mining costs
- you might be better off just buying coin at the dip, but it's up to you
