ICOs and the Draconian People's Republic of China

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

At this time of the year, when we are a few days of Guarani – GUA - The Philanthropic crypto ICO, throughout it's 15 months development prior to this date, some approach me with the question:

Is it China ICO ban a problem for your ICO and the crypto ecosystem?

-Probably is... My replied follows accordingly. - Not only to ICOs but for the whole crypto ecosystem...'

The dream of East – West harmonious union falls apart slightly with the draconian decision of our East(er) counterpart.

How could not a country with an estimated 1.4 billion inhabitants, where half of it, or over half a billion are actively consumers, did not hurt the decentralize approach of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology?

If we take into consideration only 10% of China consumers as active ICO participants we are at a loss of about 50 million ICO investors, even 1% equals to 5 million ICO investors. It is indeed a loss that pretty much damage ICOs.

Our capitalism offer us the IPO as a business economic infrastructure, which is centralized, over regulated and offer anyone the security they are looking for.

Am unable to understand why someone worry about when an ICO raised millions in a day when mostly the money investment is not even from the people who complains about it?

Again it comes down to the expression:

Mind your own business.

Why those many regulation requests in the ICO ecosystem, mostly from newcomers?

At this moment, when cryptocurrencies, tokens, and the blockchain, becomes mainstream, if one finds an ICO a 'dangerous' not 'secure' environment to invest , go and buy IPO shares, it is as simple as that, and it was the mistake of the People's Bank of China decision to ban ICOs

Matt Ward, an Angel Investor, an 'old school' serial entrepreneur wrote an article on Hackermoon where he focus on single ICOs incidents in an attempt to blow out ICOs, calling the blockchain a disruptive technology in his conservative, egocentric, jealous type approach followed by only few like minded comments.

For some, China Ban on ICOs is temporary...

However, was not China decision to ban ICOs another sign of China draconian/authoritarian model and another sign for a matter of Western national security?

We are sorry but what to expected from a country who violate the Tibetan territory as a nation?
Many of us , these days (in a popular terminology)' hide it under the carpet' but China atrocities over Tibet was to the extent of a million deaths . A statistics from Tibetans in exile.

The genocide of our times .

As we know, China argument is that Tibet has always been China territory and so on, but draconian & violent China is indeed a threat we can not ignore and now at this present moment China acts in the economic challenge of our times, China decision on ICO ban is another draconian act we can't ignore

Unfortunately the People's Republic of China lost it's track from it's ancient wisdom and are slowly showing to the world, it's draconian way.

Lao Tzu the ancient Chinese philosopher known as the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching wrote:

“If you try to change it , you will ruin it. Trying to hold it, and you will lose it.”
