XAYA: Next-Generation Decentralized Blockchain Gaming Platform
The Gaming Industry
Gaming has brought mankind pleasure and distraction from the real and cruel world for thousands of years now, with the oldest known board game dating back to more than 5000 years ago. Since digital games appeared a couple decades ago and started flourishing in this digital era, the field has started growing.
Currently, the gaming industry involves more than 100 billion dollars per year and that number is still growing steadily by billions of dollars per year Source. This makes it an immensely profitable market.
Crypto’s Share in the industry
More and more cryptogames are being created and released, of which the most famous example is probably Cryptokitties. Fact is, though, that all crypto games together don’t even make up 1% of the entire gaming industry at the moment. Not even 0.1%! Therefore, there is a HUGE market potential lurking behind the curtains, waiting to be revealed and claimed by the right innovators.
What is XAYA
According to the creators of XAYA, they are those innovators. XAYA proposes not a minor adaptation to an already existing Blockchain, which seems to be the preferred go-to for many crypto-gaming projects at the moment. XAYA uses its own blockchain, the XAYA blockchain. It’s made by the developers who, before dedicating themselves to XAYA, created HunterCoin, which was a really early and fairly popular cryptogame.
Some features XAYA offers:
XAYA's team is very competitive. As mentioned before, they have already made a working blockchain game in the past, called Huntercoin. This was simply an experiment, as they're now taking it a step further and creating a whole blockchain gaming platform. The Huntercoin project was fairly popular with thousands of accounts interacting with the game. With Huntercoin, the team created a whole new possibility on which to wish to build further: Human Mining. For the users more generally depicted as "Play-to-Earn".
More information about the team and their achievements can be found here: https://xaya.io/about-us/
They're also really active on Telegram and respond quickly & accurately to any questions posed to them. Join XAYA's Telegram (EN) here: https://t.me/xaya_en
Why XAYA will conquer the gaming industry
As listed above, XAYA offers many features that would be very beneficial for games. Additionally, there are quite some features that would definitely make XAYA more attractive than other blockchain platforms for developers to release their games on.
Firstly, XAYA offers a relatively easy way of coding games on the blockchain, supporting multiple traditional ways of coding and not having to do all the difficult blockchain work. XAYA allows developers to use any programming language they like, opposed to pretty much any other blockchain gaming platform, which usually only allow one programming language and require a lot of smart contract knowledge.
On the second hand, XAYA utilises its self-created and peer-reviewed technology called “Game channels”, which basically includes the creation of private sidechains, which are able to record and handle moves in a fraudless way without compromising a lot of space in the main network.
That makes the lives of developers a lot easier, since it makes the creation of games more convenient, but it also allows for more complex and advanced games, which is what gamers would love. The cryptocollectibles were nice demonstrations of blockchain technology, but definitely not games. XAYA allows for actual games to be handled on the Blockchain.
XAYA is already functional
XAYA has already successfully released its mainnet a while ago. Currently, you can interact with XAYA’s blockchain through its wallet which can be downloaded here. Through it, you can send & receive CHI (XAYA’s coin). Currently, there’s not a lot of other things to do, but one thing may come handy… Username reservations! You can already reserve usernames, which you (and no one else) will be able to use in games. Reserving names comes at a small fee of about 0.01 CHI per username. You can claim as many usernames as you want, but don’t worry if you haven’t picked a username yet: It allows for any unicode character to be used, so there’s a lot of cool usernames still available.
You can explore its blockchain through here, though it does not have a lot of luxurious features yet. You can find all claimed usernames though, maybe to inspire your own choice of names a bit… ;)
Upcoming Games on XAYA
XAYA already has a couple of game developers who would like to publish their games on it. Two of these have been announced, though it’s possible more are yet to be unveiled. These two known games are TreatFighter and Soccer Manager Crypto.
TreatFighter
The first game is TreatFighter. TreatFighter is a game in which you cook treats, send them on expeditions/fight in tournaments with them, get recipes/ingredients from those activities and repeat. Upgrading these treats and selling them to others is also possible of course. The game is already on the blockchain, but in private testing phase to fix the most major bugs and prepare it for further releases. Soon, it will be released to the public as Open Beta, allowing for further testing, bug-fixing and optimisation.
The game looks somewhat like a very polished Cryptocollectible with awesome graphics at first sight, but it quickly turns out to have some deeper features, on which I can’t/won’t elaborate too much yet. You gotta see that for yourself when it releases (in open beta) soon. Check it out here
Soccer Manager Crypto
Soccer Manager games are a very popular gaming genre, with Forbes’ estimating that the genre involves about 7 billion dollars per year. Soccer Manager Crypto brings this to the XAYA blockchain.
Not a lot of information has been published about it yet and it will release somewhat later than TreatFighter. Check out Soccer Manager’s site here for more information.
Other games
Of course there is a lot more possible than just TreatFighter and Soccer Manager Crypto. XAYA is built to support at least the following game genres as well: Cryptocollectibles, Real-Time Strategy // Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games, Turn-Based games and Massively Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Games. Many more genres can be explored!
XAYA’s ICO // Mainsale
XAYA has finished its presale a while ago. Its Mainsale is currently being held at Xaya.io. It’s selling 150 million coins, of which all unsold coins will be burned. The sale is managed through Liquid, a reliable and increasingly popular exchange.
The era of XAYA
The era of Cryptocollectibles is over. With the increasing demand for blockchain games without sacrificing a lot of quality, a new era is about to unveil - The era of XAYA.
