The reality of the PIVX coin supply

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

On June 1st, 2018, Joël Valenzuela published this article for DashForceNews. In the article Joël writes about crypto coin supplies, their distribution, and their implications.

The article seeks to promote Dash and draw contrast with competitors and included various statistics about coin distributions in other popular crypto coins. One of them is PIVX.

Unfortunately we have to conclude that a lot of the information in the article presented as facts is in fact incorrect, and the following picture from the article is based on incorrect data:

The reality of the PIVX coin supply is very different.

It should be immediately apparent to any reader that the data erroneously suggests the Top 1000 addresses hold 144% of the coin supply... but this isn't the only thing that is off in the article.

I commend the PIVX team for being attentive to information being peddled around about PIVX. Kudos for setting the record straight and allaying any fear, uncertainty and doubt!

I'm confused, why is this wrong? Or is this a teaser?

well... for starters... how can the top 1000 addresses hold 144% of the coin supply?
